Welcome to NHS Greater Preston CCG
Welcome to the website of NHS Greater Preston Clinical Commissioning Group.
We are a clinical commissioning group (although you will mostly hear us described as a CCG), that plans, organises and buys a range of healthcare services for people that live in Greater Preston.
We are part of the National Health Service (or NHS), but being a clinical commissioning group means that we are run by local healthcare professionals, such as family doctors, hospital doctors and nurses. We are also a member organisation – our members are made up of all of the 33 GP practices in Greater Preston.
Use our website to find out more about us and the work we do, to help you find out about local health services in your area, and to see how you can get involved in decisions made about local healthcare.
Did you know that by giving up smoking you can improve your lung capacity by up to 10%?
There are many benefits associated with stopping smoking, that's why Greater Preston CCG is supporting the Stoptober campaign this October.
For more information go to our 'Make October your Stoptober' page by clicking here.
Our Health Our Care
We are working with our partners to look at how we can deliver a better health and social care system across Chorley, South Ribble and Greater Preston. We call this Our Health Our Care and you can find out more here.
Chorley Hospital A&E Update
Following the temporary closure of the accident and emergency (A&E) department at Chorley Hospital because of a shortage of middle grade doctors, central Lancashire’s System Resilience Group has been monitoring the progress to recruit more doctors on a week-by-week basis.
Find the most recent update about an external review of Chorley Hospital A&E here.
