Welcome to NHS Greater Preston CCG
Welcome to the website of NHS Greater Preston Clinical Commissioning Group.
We are a clinical commissioning group (although you will mostly hear us described as a CCG), that plans, organises and buys a range of healthcare services for people that live in Greater Preston.
We are part of the National Health Service (or NHS), but being a clinical commissioning group means that we are run by local healthcare professionals, such as family doctors, hospital doctors and nurses. We are also a member organisation – our members are made up of all of the 33 GP practices in Greater Preston.
Use our website to find out more about us and the work we do, to help you find out about local health services in your area, and to see how you can get involved in decisions made about local healthcare.
Chorley Hospital A&E temporarily changing
From Monday 18 April, Chorley Hospital's A&E department will be temporarily replaced by an urgent care centre.
In order to answer some of the questions you may have about this change, we have created an FAQ, which can be downloaded here (link to page on this website).
During our Governing Body meetings we invite patients to talk to us about their experiences regarding their health care – referred to as a ‘patient story’.
We will be bringing you the stories that were told at each meeting on film. Click here to watch the latest videos and to find out more about sharing your story.
GP extended opening hours
A number of GP surgeries are opening their clinics for longer to help patients gain access in a timely and convenient way.
Many patients in the area will now have access to their GP at evenings and at weekends. Some practices will be staying open until 8pm during the week, others will be offering appointments for Saturday and Sunday mornings.
To find out if your local surgery is participating in the scheme, contact them by phone:
If you need help finding your practice, our GP member practices are listed here.
